BRUNSWICK, ME.- Bowdoin College Museum of Art presents the first comprehensive exhibition devoted to Edward Hopper’s artistic production in Maine between 1914 and 1929. While there has been no shortage of exhibitions devoted to Hopper, very little attention has been paid to the fruitful summers he spent here. Indeed, Hopper summered in Maine nine times, painting and sketching in Ogunquit, Monhegan, Rockland, Cape Elizabeth, Two Lights, and Portland, among other sites. Large Gift of Master Prints to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art

BRUNSWICK, ME.- The Bowdoin College Museum of Art announced an extraordinary gift to its permanent collection from long-time friend and generous donor Charles Pendexter, a current resident of Brunswick, Maine. Totaling more than 1,500 prints and eight drawings, the Pendexter collection expands the breadth of Bowdoin’s already rich print holdings, increasing them by 20 percent.
