LONDON.- The Summer Exhibition, from 14 July until 12 August, will showcase a wide range of works from the stable of artists represented by the Alan Cristea Gallery, the largest dealer and publisher of 20th Century and contemporary prints in Europe. Including paintings, works on paper, ceramics, sculpture and installations, and with prices ranging from £750 to £50,000, this show will focus on the work of Royal Academicians including Gillian Ayres, Allen Jones, Ian McKeever, Lisa Milroy, Mimmo Paladino and Joe Tilson. LONDON.- The largest painting David Hockney has ever created is shown in the York Art Gallery through June 12 2011 , for the first time outside London. Bigger Trees Near Warter or/ou Peinture Sur Le Motif Pour Le Nouvel Age Post-Photograpique 2007, measuring 12m by 4.5m, is made up of 50 smaller canvasses of a landscape near the East Yorkshire village of Warter. David Hockney’s Bigger Trees Near Warter Presented at Tate Britain

LONDON.- David Hockney gifted Bigger Trees near Warter 2007 to Tate in 2008. The oil painting, his largest ever, was made on fifty canvas panels and was executed outside, en plein air. Measuring 4.6 x 12.2 metres (15 x 40 feet), its subject is a typical Yorkshire landscape, west of Bridlington. The work was first exhibited in 2007 at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
