Art Naples: Naples Premier Contemporary Art Fair Launches in March

NAPLES, FL.- International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE) announces the first annual Art Naples International Contemporary Art Fair taking place at the newly renovated Naples International Pavilion, March 18th-21st, 2011with a Preview evening Thursday, March 17th to benefit the Patty & Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art.

Art Naples will present over 45 international art dealers and special exhibitions from Europe, Latin America , United States, Asia as well as leading Southwest Florida contemporary dealers representing over 1200 works of art by 300 artists spanning both 20th and 21st century. The fair will feature paintings, sculpture, photography, design, fine art glass, video and installations from a bevy of established museum collected artists as well as some of today’s most promising emerging artists. All of the works of art are for sale.

The fair will feature works from modern and contemporary icons; Warhol, Lichtenstein, Rauschenberg, Robert Indiana, Frankenthaler, Botero, Frank Stella, Chuck Close, Cruz-Diez, Motherwell, Tom Wesselmann, Jim Dine, Rosenquist; sculptors John Chamberlin, Lynn Chadwick, Albert Paley, Howard Ben Tre, Hanneke Beaumont , Botero and Javier Marin; fine art glass artists Chuhily, Daniel Clayman, Davide Salvadore, Ann Wolff, Dan Dailey, John Kuhn, Tim Tate and Toots Zynsky. A special exhibition of the design works of Pedro Friedeberg will be curated by Graciela Kartofel.

Photography lovers will have a large selection of artists to enjoy and to collect from vintage works by renown photographers; Avedon, Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier – Besson, Alfred Einsenstaedt, Edward Weston; National Geography international photojournalist Steve McCurry and the iconic works of Hollywood stars Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor by photographers Lawrence Schiller and Frank Worth .

Encouraging young collectors to begin collecting art, participating exhibiting dealers will also include works by emerging artists beginning from $ 500 to $3500. The program called “Collect” will be highlighted in each exhibitor’s booths the fair will offer daily docent tours available for those attendees interested in learning more about emerging art.

In addition to the impressive lineup of galleries exhibiting the Fair will include a daily educational lecture and panel series. Lecturers will include Diane Camber, former director of the Bass Museum; Dr. Carol Damian, Director of the Frost Museum at FIU, Miami; Ferdinand Hampson, Director of Michigan’s 40 year old Habatat Gallery; Graciela Kartofel, Independent Curator, Author ,and Latin American Art historian; Andrea Clark Brown, Architect and Designer; and, Elisa Turner, Art Critic, Art Historian and former art critic of the Miami Herald who will interview Naples collector Bob Edwards.

Highlights include a special exhibition of the American photo realist paintings by Robert Cottingham, curated by Forum Gallery, New York; recent fine art glass works by Dale Chulhiy and Dan Clayman and a landscaped sculpture garden including large scale sculptures by Botero, John Chamberlin, Javier Marin and Hannake Beaumont.
