Christopher Stone is considered one of the worlds foremost stone carvers in the ”Direct Style” which was developed by the renowned Henri Gaudier Brzeska.
Chris Stone, long established in the international world of arts with his tremendously talented touch for unique creations in stone, bronze, and other natural materials bringing him global recognition and success for his outstanding works. His modus operandi usually begins by inspirations and inner visions which can pop into his mind any time of the day or night, and away he goes. And when not hammer/ chisel chipping, molding, sandstone wheel polishing, grinding and buffing, etc.

Chris takes a break, sort of personal therapy to help relax and recharge his creativity wheels, Chris turns to paints and brushes. Understandable, as painting isn´t as much a physical workout as tackling a block of stone with heavy tools. Mind you, this didn´t happen overnight considering sculpture was no where in thought when Stone was a youngster, Some while later, by chance, another form of skill and craft using hands, mind and sharp eyes came his way some thirty or more years ago when a job opportunity came along – apprentice in a high quality cabinet making company. Although this position earned needed funds for his family during a period of economical difficulty, his superiors were on the rough side but Chris stuck it out and tremendously benefited by learning a “trade” which would be directing his future in other forms of art crafts – hence , sure enough, in the 1970´s Chris began building new horizons for his multi- talent artistic skills and creations kicking off with sculptures. These beautiful pieces, reflecting hard worked devotion and dedication began pulling great interest and attention in art exhibitions throughout Europe and the USA, fine success followed. For the past 17 years the Stone family has settled in Ibiza,Spain where he became friends, and collaborated with the world acclaimed welsh sculptor Barry Flanagan. Enjoying the lovely surrounds and climate, ideal environment for Chris´s sculpture/fine art career.
