Jose Parla
Miami born Jose Parla is an exceptional artist, whose work has been widely included in numerous collections, solo and group exhibitions, including the selling out solo show Adaptation/Translation at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms in October 2008 and most recently Lance Armstrong’s “Stages” at Galerie Perrotin in Paris , and Deitch Projects in New York .

Parla’s trademark multilayered approach draws inspiration from his personal experiences in the many cities he has lived in and travelled to. His work has a powerful narrative force, where calligraphy is accompanied by psycho-geographical maps of the urban landscape, charging the artworks with instantly recognisable vibrant raw energy.
