The foundations of the MACBA and La Caixa (Caixa Forum) merge their funds

Barcelona, Catalonia. - Four months ago, in July, the MACBA and the La Caixa Foundation signed an agreement merging their funds. Last Friday presented the roadmap that gives content to the agreement of collaboration. With this merger become one of the most important collections of contemporary art in Europe.

Agreement will allow joint use of both institutions totaling 4,450 works worth about 160 million euros.
There will be four shows between October 2011 and late 2011, starting with an exhibition of sculpture in the MACBA  entitled Volume.

After this, Caixa Forum Madrid hosts a selection of installations, films and documents on the form and space and Caixa Forum Palma offer a presentation on the concept of man and identity.

Finally, we offer a joint exhibit at the MACBA and the Caixa Forum in Barcelona.

The agreement is not confined to the field of exhibitions, but also include, in addition to acquisitions, several cycles of conferences and educational projects.
