LONDON.- The London Original Print Fair opens at the Royal Academy of Arts in six weeks’ time. This much loved and highly acclaimed fair has become an essential date in the London arts diary and this year welcomes 50 specialist exhibitors from around the world. Works for sale cater to all tastes and cover all periods of printmaking, from the early woodcuts of Dürer and his contemporaries to the graphic work of artists working today such as David Hockney and Grayson Perry. A number of talks and demonstrations exploring printmaking include an exclusive insight into Quentin Blake’s recent venture into etching and lithography.

Highlights at this, the 28th LOPF include prints by the earliest master printmakers Dürer and Rembrandt, 19thcentury artists Whistler and Palmer, and 20th century masters Picasso and Matisse. A newly released collection of Lucian Freud prints will be on sale, as will work by early 20thcentury British artists such as Walter Sickert and Ben Nicholson. Print publishers working with contemporary artists are well represented at the LOPF this year and will be launching a wealth of work including a new lithograph by Bob & Roberta Smith and new prints by Ana Maria Pacheco. Galleries exhibiting for the first time at the LOPF include Stamperia d’Arte Berardinelli (Italy); Himmelblau Printmaking (Finland); and Abbot & Holder, Manifold Editions and White Cube Editions from the UK.
